10 Random Non-Bookish Facts About Me

10 Random Non-Bookish Facts About Me

Hello everyone!

I know what you’re thinking – where has this post come from all of a sudden? Maybe it’s because I was tagged by Rachel @ Quite The Novel Idea (long enough ago that this was from her old blog) and also by Aditi @ Book Stop Corner and Anna @ Enchanted by YA for the Versatile blogger award. Or maybe the real reason is because I am a bit behind with my reading and haven’t been giving my blog the amount of attention I usually do. I’ve even been thinking of permanently shifting too bookstagram and booktube alone, even though I have worked so hard for this blog. But anyway, this post is about those random facts! Let’s just treat it like a tag. So, the rules:

1. Nominate 5 bloggers
2. Let the bloggers know that you’ve nominated them.
3. Share 10 random facts about yourself.
4. Thank the blogger who nominated you.

1. It’s true… I do love to eat my eggs with powdered sugar. In fact, I don’t like my eggs without it much. I do eat boiled egg with salt but when I started to layer the powdered sugar on my fried and scrambled eggs my friends gawp at me. It took me a while to realise that sweet eggs were something strange.

2. I play the harp. Well, I play it every now and again. I’m terrible at staying dedicated but I doubt I could ever properly give it up because I also love it.

3. I am terrible at having a favourite of anything! I basically can never choose because there’s always more than one that I like a lot. I think the only thing I have favourites of are seasons, numbers and colours. (Autumn, 10 and sunset orange, if you were wondering.)

4. I have a lot of trouble saying no to things. Or leaving things I have started. I just feel compelled to finish everything I begin and accepting everything and then I get way too stressed…

5. I tend to wake up at 1am and then I’m just awake. I used to read in this time but then I wouldn’t ever get any sleep because the book would keep me awake. Now I try to just lie there and fall back asleep but it’s difficult to get a full night of proper sleep.

6. I find movies to be too long for me to sit through in one go. I sometimes do it when I am watching a movie with someone but I’ve noticed myself watching them less and less. I also find it hard to keep up with series/shows. Watching things is just so much harder than reading, even when I love them!

7. I am one of the pickiest eaters you’ll ever meet. I don’t like bread, I don’t like pizza… nuts… Couple me with my best friend and serving us a meal that we’ll both eat is very very difficult.

8. I can run up and down a basketball court in a game again and again perfectly fine, but as soon as you put me on a track with the intention of running more than one lap I get horrendously exhausted and am likely to hyper ventilate.

9. Lately, I’ve started to hyper ventilate a lot more because I simply forget to inhale. I have no idea why.

10. I have an unlimited stomach when it comes to meat. At one school camp I ate 20+ chicken wings. I leave it as a plus so you’ll never know quite how many… and if you put a pile of ribs in front of me, you might be astonished by how fast it disappears.

  • I've never ever heard of anyone eating eggs with sugar. I can't eat eggs too often but I do like them, can't say I've ever put sugar on them though lol. Hmm weird about me…I know we're all a little weird but I can't think of anything…hmm, okay. I don't like to mix my food. Like if I have rice and meat, if someone mixes them together and I think they shouldn't be together. I won't eat it.

  • I'm such a picky eater too. I don't like spaghetti, hamburgers, cheeseburgers – basically I don't like American food. But I'm also now allergic to eggs, shrimp, and most meat. Honestly I don't know how I survive xD

  • I am trying to imagine eggs sugar! I like the unusual combos of mars bars with very vinegary chip shop chips, also salt and vinegar crisps with dairy milk is nice too! Banana and cheese is another favourite….maybe I should try these eggs!!

  • I will try to do this! I love all your gifs! Now when I do it I'm going to have to find some as well. I am definitely a picky eater as well. Powdered sugar on eggs. Never heard of that. Interesting. Maybe a salty and sweet type of thing? As for not being able to quit, having to finish something you've started, that is usually me, although I'm getting better about it with books now that I have such huge TBR piles.

  • Lol. Love these random facts about you, Olivia! You will get along well with my husband as he doesn't like watching movies as well. He can't sit still for more than an hour. πŸ™‚

  • I loved reading about your facts. It's wonderful to leaarn that you play the harp. Maybe you're anxious and that's why you can't sleep and hyperventilate. And maybe that anxiousness comes from not being able to say "No" and worrying a lot.

One thing I have to say is that I wish I was a picky eater. My husband loves food as much as I do. It's horrible. LOL!

  • I can't get over the no bread or pizza. LOL! Okay,I love vegetables. Mainly, broccoli, green beans, carrots, cabbage, and collard greens. I usually only eat peas unless they're in soup.

  • Well this was tons of fun. I loved learning more about you. πŸ™‚ I have never heard of anyone eating eggs quite the way you do. So interesting especially considering how picky you are. I say yes to too many things too! I am trying to be better about it because it does get stressful.

I am thinking the hyperventilating could be related to not saying no enough, maybe you are tense? I am not sure. My husband pointed out to me that I hold my breath when I read and then I let it out after a page or two. I think it is odd, but it seemed along the line of hyperventilating or forgetting to breathe. Good luck!

    • I am going to try working on the saying no more often part, although it is tricky! I just want to help everyone in the end <3 But I do think those things could be related. I'm going to work on solving it a bit more…

  • The movie thing? I feel you! Unless it's a really damn good movie or Studio Ghibli it's hard for me to watch it in one sitting. I just get so distracted. The most I see a movie all at once is at a movie theater. I'm better at watching shows, though, and prefer those actually.

Thanks for the tag! I'm really bad at blog tags so it might be a while before I get to it but I'll try my best! xD

  • I am rather impressed by the fact you can play the harp. I'd love to be able to play the harp, it sounds so beautiful. Wow. I thought I was a picky eater, but I adore bread and pizza. I can't eat cooked vegetables of ANY kind. OH MY! I am the same when it comes to meat, I could just eat it endlessly forever!!!

  • I think of all of these, what shocks me most is that you don't like bread or pizza. I can't have them because I'm on a diet, but I don't think that's the reason for you. πŸ™‚

  • You play the harp!! That's really, really cool!! :O
I can totally relate to #3 and #4. Making decisions is just so hard! There are way too many great things out there haha πŸ˜› And leaving things unfinished… oh boy, no. Just recently I've started to tell myself that it's ok to dnf books, because I was seriously going crazy reading things I didn't even want to read…

    Lipstick and Mocha

  • Please remember to breathe!!!!!! Uber-important πŸ˜›

Not entirely sure you lot are ready for a post with 10 random facts about me… but I've been trying to think of a post for tomorrow. So this is perfect timing for me πŸ˜› (Be afraid. Be very afraid.)

  • I enjoyed all those random tidbits about you. I didn't know anyone who enjoyed eggs with sugar before. I also find it hard to sit through a movie but only if I watch the movie at home. When I watch a movie at home, I like to fold the laundry or tidy up the room and sometimes I write a blog post. I'll even pause the movie to put stuff away. At the cinema I'll a lot better at sitting still however my mind wanders. I start thinking about what I would be like if I were in the movie and anticipating whats going to happen next.

I also watched your March book haul. I like how you describe the little stuff you get as swag, I think that's cute. You are lucky to get so many nice things. I also have a weakness for buying books even when I'm broke.

    • I know what you mean about pausing and doing something else! Sometimes I even watch a movie over the space of two days so I am less likely to feel bored.

Thanks for watching <3 I'm trying to go on a book buying ban until summer, so we'll see how that goes!
