Fantasy Themed Book Haul!
Hey Catastrophes!
It’s been a very long time since I last shared a book haul! Mostly because I gave up on keeping track with all the ebooks I buy/receive. But I’m going to try and share them a bit more for when it comes to my physical book hauls. So here we go with the first one.
Mya Robarts, the author of the V Girl, kindly gifted me a stack of fantasy themed books for a discussion post/video I am going to be doing as soon I have read all of them. You might have seen my reviews or comments for some in posts or wrap ups, so you know I am getting through them slowly and steadily ๐
It’s a bit of a short post but I am going to tell you why I am most excited for each book or series!
Rhapsodicย by Laura Thalassaย – I actually didn’t even know this book existed before it was sent to me! xD But there are dragon wings on the cover (or what I think are dragon wings) so if there are dragons THAT MAKES ME EXCITED!
Shatter Me, Unravel Me & Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafiย – I was legit so excited to read this trilogy! (see video to see my reaction) But this review will explain why my excitement has gone down. I’ve heard the series supposedly gets better so I guess I am excited for some improvement?
A Court of Thorns and Roses & A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas –ย Initially I was so excited because I had never read a Sarah J Maas novel but since this post I’ve read the first one. Even though I had mixed thoughts I am now excited for the sequel because I think we get more Rhys.
More Rhys will always be a good thing ๐
Uprooted by Naomi Novikย –ย I have wanted this book for so long! I kept picking it up this book in a book store and then choosing to buy a different book over it. But I fell in love with the cover and I have heard promising things about this one, so I am very excited to read it.
Wintersong by S. Jae-Jonesย –ย I have seen this book around book blogs a lot, and I remember when the sequel came out. Sometimes when I see a book around a lot it is all the motivation I need to want to read it. ๐ Which may be one of the reasons why my TBR is so long. Whoops :3
The V Girlย by Mya Robartsย – I can’t really be excited about reading this one because I already have read and reviewed it. But I am actually considering giving it a re-read. It was one of my first explicit reads ever… and I was a little-Olivia back then. Now I have more ideas and opinions and I wonder how they effect my reading, agreement or disagreement with this book!

I have yet to read the Shatter Me series and it has been on my TBR pile forever! Great haul. Happy reading!

I haven’t picked up the Shatter Me Series or Uprooted yet even though I own it, this was a awesome haul!

oh what beautiful pile! ๐ I have the V Girl ARC I have tried it a couple of times but it has been a DNF. I’m not giving up yet ๐ I’ll try to find your review maybe that will motivate me to finish it! ๐
Ah, I am sorry you haven’t been able to get into it yet. Hopefully the right mood will come along and you’ll be able to delve into it…
I thought the Shatter Me series got better and then I didn’t like how it ended up. But we can discuss that when you are finished….
Oh, I will have to talk about this one with you when I finish the third book! I wonder if you will try reading the fourth newly released one or not…
I loved the Shattered Me series and keep debating whether or not to read the newest one. Great haul!

I can’t wait to read all of them! I do hope the series improved. I’ve been hearing positive things about the sequel especially so I am looking forward to it now ^.^
I have Uprooted on my tbr for so long too, but I’m scared of it that I keep putting it off ๐ I do think Shatter Me series got better with each book though, Ignite Me was the best!
You can do it! I hope it will be a good read for the both of us. I’ve been hearing good things about her next book, Spinning Silver, as well. Hopefully I’ll enjoy the finale of the series most too ๐
I pre-ordered Darkdawn: Book Three of the Nevernight Chronicle by Jay Kristoff. I’m also starting the series too. Enjoying it so far…
I have heard such great things about the Nevernight Chronicles! I need to get around to reading the first book, especially if you’re loving it so much ๐
I have read ACOTAR series. Didn’t like it much. But I hope you enjoy the series. I haven’t read any other book you purchased. But this looks like a great haul ๐ Cheers!

Nice haul! I heard of some of these books so never thought of picking it up (especially the ACOTAR AND Shatter me series because I’m TERRIBLE and continuing book series). Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading them ๐

Continuing series is much harder than some people make it seem. But you should try some series! There are great ones out there ๐

2 books down and it’s still solid hating it but it’s still okay at the same time haha. But really, the romance is WAYYY overdone ๐
I am definitely in the “Shatter Me gets much better” camp, so I really hope you find that it does too! I will be curious to your thoughts on Uprooted- everyone loves it, I was slightly underwhelmed? I liked Wintersong too- the writing is so pretty! I liked the first two ACOTAR books but I kind of thought the third was only okay. Also, I feel you with giving up on ebooks hahah!
Hmm, I will definitely let you know what I think once I get around to it! I am really excited for these reads now, all the more ๐ Especially book two of ACOTAR because I have a feeling we get to go to Night Court and I AM SO READY.
Haha, ebooks just come onto my kindle in the masses and I can’t keep up although I read ebooks more often than not ๐
You have to get started on Uprooted. It’s fantastic and I think you’ll love it. ๐

Nice haul Olivia! ACOTAR series is on my TBR for so long now. I don’t know why I keep pushing it behind on my reading list. I really need to pick it up soon.

Yeah, ebooks and free books do make that hard! So I only do book hauls for my physical reads now, and don’t even bother to try and keep up with the ebooks that I receive or download for free anymore on my blog or channel ๐
The only one of these I’ve read is Uprooted and I loved this book! Hope you enjoy it too ๐

Oh man I hope you like ACOMAF. As you know it’s my favorite. Oh and I’m excited for you to read Uprooted. It’s one of my top favorites. It’s like a mix of fairytale and Howl’s Moving Castle. ๐
My latest book I bought was My Dear Hamilton, which I’m currently reading and I’m convinced I’ll never want to read anything else again because it’s so good. Haha
I am looking forward to reading it soon! Especially now I know it’s your favourite and how good you are with reading recommendations ๐ Uprooted is one I am so hyped for!

What a nice gift and a great stack of books. I read 5 of those – The Shatter Me books and the ACOTAR books. I have Uprooted and everyone seems to love it, and I keep meaning to read it.
It was so lovely of Mya Robarts! I have read some of the Shatter Me series now and the first in the ACOTAR. I can’t wait to get my review up of that one because it will be interesting… I hope you get to read Uprooted soon!
Like you I have heard so many promising things about Uprooted that I swear I will read it eventually. I am super keen to pick The V Girl though – it sounds so important and unique compared to other dystopian stories. I’ve had it on my TBR for a long time and I’m excited to read your review, especially since you think it deserves a reread!

Oh, Uprooted is quite nice, but I have so many mixed feelings about it. It can be quite delightful at times and I liked its take on fairtytale elements. But I do not want to influence you so I will speak no more!
I am not sure what’s my last physical book purchased – that is a sign that I should visit a bookstore asap, right?
I have heard mixed things but I do hope Uprooted will be one that suits my reading taste. We can discuss it when I get around to reading it ๐ You get a lot of ebooks though, and if you mostly read ebooks then that works too ^^
I know and I love ebooks – especially since I got a kindle last Christmas, but I also have a lot of unread books and I want to get back into the habit of reading physical books if that makes sense!

That’s a solid collection. I’m curious, do you find yourself reading more physical or ebooks? I personally seem to consume ebooks a lot more simply because of how portable they are. Still, I can’t help but buy more physical books for my collection!
I mostly read physical books, but I do read ebooks faster than I read physical books (I think.) I read more ebooks during the three months in the middle of the year because I am traveling though! But yes, physical books do have an allure to them ๐
